Thank You for Everything

Things are coming together for our first opening on May 2nd from 10am until 8pm.  You've seen a whole bunch of cards that will be available. Here's one more!!!

I believe that if you pay attention in your life you can probably send a thank you note to someone every day. There's just so much to be thankful for and most of it comes through the people in our lives. Start thinking about someone you want to thank NOT because you're obligated by social tradition but because you're truly thankful for the people in your life.

Thinking of YOU

Yes ... I AM thinking of you when I make these cards. As I stock up the Al A Carte section above I'm aiming at some variety. It's trickier than you think because I love flowery cards. AND I love this paper, don't you?

I'm putting 11 of these into the Al A Carte section above for you to come and make on May 2nd. Please mark your calendar. There's someone in your life right now that wants to know you're thinking about her.

Blog Hop Heads Up

This is just a heads up to those who follow only the Pretty Pieces Café blog. Over at Just One Pretty Piece there's a Blog Hop going on. Click right HERE to jump right in and see a whole lot of Skylark awesomeness. I love this "Live In The Moment" stamp so you'll probably see something using that sentiment sooner or later.

When you go through the hop check out the lip balm holders on Kristine's Blog. I'm thinking about adding a couple of easy teacher gifts to the Al A Carte section to make at the end of May. What do you think???

Altered "Recipe"

Do you ever get a recipe from someone and change it up? Maybe it has an ingredient your family doesn't like. OR you have something in your refrigerator that you could use up? 

This week I received the card below in the mail. Isn't it adorable??? I love everything about it except the labor!! That beautiful "patterned" paper is hand stamped. I don't do that! So ... Close To My Heart paper to the rescue. Same idea only a whole lot easier. 

Thank you to Anne Rukke for letting me copy her card. It's only fitting that I show you here because Anne is on the Pretty Pieces team. I'm hoping to show you what the other girls cook up in the future.

Look What I Found

Close To My Heart paper is on trend and timeless all at once!! I love that.

Oh Baby

I have LOOOOOVED this Close To My Heart Stamp Of The Month (CTMH SOTM LOL!!!) since I got it in December 2013!! Some people say they don't like all of the"collecting" that we do as paper crafters. I'm happy to add things to my "stash" because I never know when it's something I'll need or be inspired by. I love this baby card. There are lots of color options when you come to the cafe. I'm a big fan of choices.

Here's a little something that's just good to have on hand for a lot of different occasions. I could see myself sending this card over and over again for a whole variety of occasions. I gave it lots of labels because I just couldn't choose.

It's simple, because the sentiment says everything.

Al A Carte EASY!!

Sometimes there will be items in Al A Carte that require very little effort or creativity on your part!! THIS is one of those items. This is a creative use of leftovers so everything is already stamped.

This is the only way I'll be serving cupcakes in the Pretty Pieces Cafe.

And So It Begins ...

It's time to start putting some items on the Al A Carte menu!! At this point everything in Al A Carte will be cards.

Make sure you check the Al A Carte section above on a regular basis to see what will be available when the Pretty Pieces Cafe is open for business. The first time you can make these cards will be Friday, May 2nd from 10am - 8pm.

Welcome to the Pretty Pieces Cafe!

NO ... it's not a restaurant. (but a lot of it does happen in my kitchen)
NO ... there's no actual food involved. (but I will probably have coffee brewing)
NO ... you won't get food stuck in your teeth (but your fingers could get messy!!).

YES ... it's a delicious place. You can see EVERY sort of class, workshop & kit that I have going on with my Close To My Heart business right here. Of course we're going to call these things something more tasty!! Check out the tabs above. These are the basics of the Pretty Pieces Cafe.

Al A Carte … cards and other paper projects that are already prepped and ready for you to create. You pick and choose what you like and how many of each thing you’d like to make. When you’re finished you pay based on what you created. All of the current items on the Al A Carte menu will be shown under the tab above. Come back often to check the selection. These items will be available during Pretty Pieces Cafe hours.

Take Out … a fancy name for KITS – yes I still plan to make them. You need to pre-order kits and pay for them upfront. They will be available to put together during “restaurant hours” OR take them home and use them whenever it works for you. You can order as many kits as you like at a time. Check out the Take Out tab to see which kits are currently available. There will be a deadline for you and a deadline for me. Please pre-order by the specified date and I'll promise to have your kit ready on the delivery date.

Banquet … there will be special occasions when I’d like to hold a class or other creating event that is limited to certain hours or a certain number of people. You will have to sign up for the banquets ahead of time. Each banquet is a special occasion and most likely won't be repeated. So if you like what you see sign up right away.

Catering … invite me anywhere to create with your friends. I can bring something form the al a carte selections, a kit that's currently in the works, teach a banquet for your private party OR cook up something special just for your group. All you have to do is invite people. You can hold your event at my house or your location. The idea here is that you are in charge of who attends. I won’t announce these events to my other customers.

Box Lunch … bring your projects during cafe hours and work alongside anyone else who is here. A small fee of $5 will be charged and you can use my inks, stamps & tools.

Stop in often to see just what I'm cooking up. The tabs will keep changing as more cafe options are added. If you see empty places right now ... come back again later. Pretty Pieces Cafe is brand new and a work in progress. As soon as you see a place to jump in make sure to contact me.
